Automobile alliance Peugeot-Citroen-Mitsubishi starts up Semi Knock-Down on Kaluga plant.
On April, 2010 the plant of automobile alliance Peugeot-Citroen-Mitsubishi in Kaluga region starts up Semi Knock-Down of automobiles Peugeot 308 and Citroen C4, as well as new Peugeot 4007 and light offroaders Mitsubishi Outlander. In the first year of the plant functioning the production of 25 000 automobiles is planned.
On March 9, the first automobile Peugeot 308 was produced. And on March 10, the first train with the auto-components was unloaded in the zone of the custom control of the temporary storage.
These two events became the beginning of the industrial activity of the group PSA Peugeot Citroen on the territory of Kaluga region.
“This success became possible only because of the united efforts of our colleagues and all, who contributed to the realization of project in Kaluga. Dynamism and desire of Kaluga authority are known to large international industrial companies and became one of the decisive factors in our selection” - Didier Alton, project director in Russia.
Now the authority of Kaluga region conducts active operation on the creation of the transport- logistic infrastructure for the optimization of the process of the delivery of auto-completion to the plant. The infrastructure for creating of transport communication between the section of Moscow railroad and the plant PSMA Rus is already built and put to use.
The plant`s management plans to move to the full cycle of assembling in June 2012. The production volume will compose 125 000 automobiles per year. The production of the plant is oriented for the realization exclusively on the Russian market.
